Welcome to our Butterfly Garden

As a woman, I believed for many years that my life was limited by my lack of education. I have come to understand that although education is very empowering, it is the experiences I have endured that have made me who I am today. Despite not having a father while growing up, 5 unplanned pregnancies from ages 16-20 that resulted in abortions, dropping out of school and living on the streets for a year, along with 2 failed marriages and multiple dysfunctional relationships with drugs, alcohol, verbal abuse and domestic violence, I have come to understand this powerful truth that my pain was not in vain. God has given me the courage to take control of my life and use my past experiences to empower other women. The Butterfly Garden is a place for Healing and Transformation that allows “women to help women” by empowering them to control their own futures. Will you join us to reclaim your destiny and take back your power?

Our missions

Our mission is to restore hurting women to their original purpose of contentment and wholeness by helping them understand the source of their brokeness, and to provide them with resources to work through the pain by finding true freedom through self forgiveness.

These women however, do struggle with different levels of domestic, sexual and verbal abuse such as fear of husbands or partners, fear of their lack of education, fear of losing their homes and children, and fear of believing the lie that they can’t do it by themselves.

5 STEPS TO HEALING

Through our vision we can equip women to become self-sufficient.

Our services will always start at the point of survival and safety and then move to stabilization and then to self-sufficiency. We realize the impossibility of overcoming the barriers these women and children are facing – and it only further fuels our passion to help them “Beat the Odds”.

The Butterfly Garden

The Butterfly Garden is a not-for-profit organization that provides transitional housing for otherwise homeless pregnant teens and single mothers.

The residents live in furnished rooms that are equipped for them and their children by Love From Above Inc. While at The Butterfly Garden they must attend school/GED classes and receive an associate’s degree or learn a work study trade, such as but not limited to: Culinary/Cooking, Fashion Design-Seamstress/Tailoring, Nursing Assistant, Early Child Day Care, and Finance (all will be offered on site).

Career Academy

The Career Academy Program aims to help teenage mothers and pregnant teens become economically self-sufficient and contributors to society through individualized education, life skills training, career training and development.

They will be given the opportunity to explore career possibilities by completing the onsite programs. Then they will be able to make an informed decision on a career path for themselves. We will assist them in obtaining the necessary advanced education. Completing our programs and advanced education affords them the opportunity to pursue a career of their choice. This will enable them to be self-sufficient head of households.

Mothering Program

The Mothering Program will provide the residents of The Butterfly Garden with skills on how to be effective at the most important job of their lives – being moms.

They will learn the importance of caring for themselves, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Caring for themselves is beneficial to themselves and their children. Healthy moms make happier moms resulting in happier children. They will also learn how to care for their children; by building healthy relationships, supporting their child’s independence, discipline, behavioral problems, and getting to know them through quality play time.

Children’s Program

The Children’s Program provides a safe, nurturing, organized, and managed fun environment where children ages 0-5 will receive social and emotional support and meaningful mother-child interactions.

This program includes a Co-op Baby Sitting Program which provides child-care for the children and for their mothers to attend classes without child-care worries. The children leaving The Butterfly Garden will have the foundation to becoming emotionally and socially developed.

The Hope Program

The Hope Program was created because we have a driving passion and commitment to help our residents gain realistic hope and a genuine sense of self worth and family leadership potential.

This program will provide spiritual and psychological guidance. Our desire is that through the Hope Program the residents will want to form a deep relationship with God and become women who are God fearing, strong, confident, and fully restored mothers.

“Our mission is to restore hurting women to their original purpose of contentment and wholeness by helping them understand the source of their brokeness, and to provide them with resources to work through the pain by finding true freedom through self forgiveness.”

OUR SERVICES

Through our vision we can equip women to become self-sufficient.

Our services will always start at the point of survival and safety and then move to stabilization and then to self-sufficiency. We realize the impossibility of overcoming the barriers these women and children are facing – and it only further fuels our passion to help them “Beat the Odds”.

Housing

Our true purpose is committing to the intervention these women and young children need. However not all the women in whom we want to serve are in poverty.

Some of these women are very secure in there surroundings. Finances are not their problem and/or issue. These women however, do struggle with different levels of domestic, sexual and verbal abuse such as fear of husbands or partners, fear of their lack of education, fear of losing their homes and children, and fear of believing the lie that they can’t do it by themselves.

Support Services

Through our vision we can equip these women to become self-sufficient. The Butterfly Garden provides a structured transitional two-year housing program for otherwise homeless pregnant teens and single mothers.

Our vision of hope and message of faith is to bring as many women as we can to security, education and stability. With Our services we hope to provide guidance and sufficiency.

Help us Reach our Goal

We have come a long way but still need your help reaching our goal. With your contribution we can help countless women with the support they need. There is still much more left to accomplish.
